For most of EEG and fNIRS studies, the participant wears of a cap (fabric cap or neoprene or sponge with silicone grid) as support for the probes (electrodes or optodes).
Cap may have different CP sizes to right match with the morphology of the head of each participant.
Before each trial, the right cap has to be prepared installing the probes and correctly routing the cables (set-up step).
Before each trial is best practice to explain to the subject what happen during the experimentation and show how it works (displaying step).
After each trial, the cap has to be cleaned (washed by water) to eliminate any trace of EEG gel and sanitized to prevent cross-contamination with subject and respect health and safety and hygiene protocol.
After such step, the wet cap has to be placed on a support to leave it dry in a passive manner (drying step).
Once dried, the cap has to be stored in a correct way to avoid any damage or alteration of fabric (storage step).
The Crystal Head is the appropriate solution to support you during each of those steps (set-up, displaying, drying and careful storing).
According to the kind of caps two solution for drying step maybe adopted :
In the first case (FADS) the Crystal Head (for Dry Model) is designed to be coupled with a Cold Air Machine (MHDM) to create a fast dry tool (less than 45 minutes at less than 40°C) that allow you to use again the same cap quickly (no more need to have more units for each size).
In the second case (CPDS) the Crystal Head (for Light Model) is designed as stand alone tool to leave the caps dry in a freely manner.
Both of the models are availables in three sizes (L-M and S) for adult as well as for childrens.
Crystal Head is made by 3D Printing from material with improved heat resistance in comparison with standard PLA filaments.
It has been designed to increase chemical, mechanical, and temperature resistance.
